Provided here are brief summaries of the plots of Johnston McCulley's original Zorro stories. Most of the summaries are not up yet; more will be added a few at time until all of them are here (or at least summaries for all of the stories I have). McCulley's stories are excellent and are highly recommended. Since it is very difficult and expensive to try to acquire the original pulp magazines in which the Zorro stories were published, it is quite necessary to buy reprints of the stories. McCulley was not consistent with certain plot elements throughout his stories. He often ignored events which occurred in previous stories. For instance, in McCulley's first story, "The Curse of Capistrano," Zorro reveals his identity to everyone, but in later stories most people have no idea who Zorro is. In some stories, Zorro's identity is known only to Don Alejandro, Don Diego's mute servant Bernardo, and Fray Felipe. In other stories, Zorro's identity is known to Bernardo, a pirate named Bardoso, and to Juan, chief of the Cocopahs.
